How long does it take to make the earrings?
Around 20–30 minutes, depending on how much shaping and sanding you’d like to do. It’s a quick and creative festive activity.
Do I need any extra tools?
If you’ve bought a toolkit, you’ll already have everything you need. If not, we recommend basic jewellery pliers and sandpaper.
Are the earrings suitable for beginners?
Yes! The tutorial is beginner-friendly and designed so anyone can follow along. No previous jewellery-making experience is needed.

What are the earrings made from?
The acetate comes from offcuts donated by spectacle makers across London. We upcycle these into colourful earrings, so every pair is unique and sustainable.

Meet our Master Maker, Jason
Jason joined Pivot in 2021 after spending time in temporary accommodation. Drawing on his lived experience, he brings empathy and insight to his work with people facing homelessness. As an accomplished maker and teacher, Jason leads jewellery workshops in hostels and at public events, where his patience and creativity shine. He also plays a key role in production, crafting much of Pivot’s jewellery himself and guiding a team of Makers to create our collections from a hostel in London.
